Car

Falls Creek is a 4.5hr drive (356km) from Melbourne Airport or a 1.5hr drive from Albury. Falls Creek is a 7hr drive from Sydney (690km).

Mount Beauty is the closest town to Falls Creek and the best place to hire chains.

Note: All vehicles during the declared snow season MUST carry chains. It is a requirement by law. Failing to do so may incur a fine.

There is no fuel available at Falls Creek. Mt Beauty is the closest fuel stop and all drivers should fill their vehicle up before making their way up the mountain. Mt Beauty fuel stations are open from 7am–7pm during the snow season 7 days a week.

In winter, diesel vehicles should be filled with alpine diesel from Mt Beauty or other local suppliers to ensure their vehicle operates in the cold alpine conditions.

Fly

The closest regional airport is Albury. The closest domestic airport is Melbourne, followed by Sydney.

"Amazing rooms with every need catered for. We felt at home the second we walked through the door. The beds were dreamy, room toastie warm and they had those big shower heads that I love to ease all your skiing aches away. Richelle was so kind and communicated everything we needed in advance so we had the smoothest experience. Ski in ski out and ski downhill to the lifts! No walking at all! Will stay again ❤"

Sensational stay..yet again at Elk

"Third time I have stayed at Elk at Falls and another sensational stay. We stayed in a large 4 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment. The apartments are modern, spotlessly clean and spacious with all essential ammenities. The lodges location provides true ski-in ski-out ability for even our youngest kids in the morning. Great drying room facilities also and amazing view from our apartment. We ate one dinner at Elk restaurant which was awesome also. A nice new touch is a private oversnow vehicle which will pick you up from oversnow terminal with your luggage if you stay 5 or more nights. Thanks Rochelle and Leanne for another great stay"

In arguably one of the best locations on the mountain, the quality of the accommodation couple with an in-house restaurant worthy of being compared to a top city restaurant, this deserves every bit of a 5 star rating.
