Brand New Elk!
Elk at Falls, located in the heart of the stunning Falls Creek Village has just completed a major renovation.
It always seems impossible until it is done... and so it seemed impossible in October last year as the epic refurbishment of Elk at Falls commenced, that the project would be finished by the opening of the ski season in June 2017.
A key landmark and an important part of Falls Creek history, Elk at Falls took new ownership in 2011 by Leanne O’Connor and Peter Duffy and was rebranded from the former Julian’s Lodge. Originally built circa 1966, it operated as lodge style accommodation. A subsequent refurbishment of three apartments and the restaurant in 2007 began the transformation.
Since the conclusion of the 2016 ski season, much of Elk’s lodge-style accommodation has been completely rebuilt in a challenging and rewarding effort by all involved, in a race against time and weather. The development team has been led by experienced Falls Creek builders, Alpine Building Company, owned by Damien Allport and Shane Lawther.
The renovation has seen the addition of five deluxe suites and five luxury apartments to the Elk offering to suit couples, families and groups.
Interiors by Coy+Yiontis architects with nordic inspired furniture and fittings, luxury beds and linen, the latest heating, security and wifi systems, coupled with stunning alpine views from every room make Elk at Falls the place to stay this ski season.
Two new ski stores, complete with Montana boot dryers and ski racks, dedicated boot on/off areas, new restaurant bathrooms, a stunning new entry foyer and impressive exterior design complete the Elk transformation.
Guests and locals will be pleased that largely unchanged is Elk’s wonderful restaurant with it’s cosy interior and 360 degree fireplace. Run by local culinary genius, Barry Iddles, Elk restaurant is open 7 days a week during winter for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We’d love to welcome you to our new Elk!
